Q:My Instructor Has Asked Me To Post My Work-How

Do I Do That?

Your instructor may ask that you post your work for review Moodle allows teachers and  students to upload and display images from a variety of sources via the image icon of the text editor. Assignments can include images for extra clarification. Moodle accepts .jpg,.png,.svg and .gif. RIFF files or PSD file formats may be used but will not be visible to your instructor or the other students and must be downloaded. Refrain from using RIFF or PSD unless your instructor specifically asks you to upload this type of file.

Uploading and displaying an image from your  computer

• Note: It is a good idea to resize your image before uploading, rather than altering its  dimensions online. I like to use Photoshop Elements or Photoshop and the "Size For  Web" option.

• With the editing turned on, access the text editor where you want to display your image  (eg, in a course summary, label or page)

• Click the image icon as below

We will not be using a URL to post our images, but rather uploading them from our  computers to the forum.

1. Select "Browse repositories" and navigate to the location on your computer where you saved your painting and select it.

Click on Upload A File

Browse for and upload your image.

Upload you image

• Either add a description of the image or tick/check the box "Description not necessary.

• Alter the size and alignment if needed and save the image. You may re size your image before you upload or re size from this panel. Be sure the "Auto size" feature is ticked. For best forum viewing resize your images to 860 pixels on the longest side.

• Alter the size and alignment if needed and save the image.

Resizing your image after posting

If you need to edit the image once it has been uploaded, you can double-click on the  image from within the Atto text editor and access the image properties window. Note it is much better to upload an image of the desired size rather than modifying it afterwards

Dragging and dropping an image

• Images may be dragged and dropped directly into file attachment area on the course  page if you are using a supported browser (not IE 9, Safari 6 or below or earlier versions of Firefox)

• As you drag the image, a prompt box appears where you choose "move" will appear.  Simply drop the image into the attachment box and choose "Post To Forum".

It is important to note that images must be the correct size when posting them in  this fashion. There is no option to edit the size of the image by using drag and

drop.
